Masindi
Rural/Countryside, Near Nature Reserve/Park, Agricultural Area, Historic District

Ubuntu Art Residency is located in Bikonzi, on the Hoima–Masindi road, 14 km from Masindi town in western Uganda, surrounded by rolling hills, mixed farmland, tree cover, and rich biodiversity. The setting offers a quiet environment for reflection, inquiry, and interdisciplinary practice.

Within reach of major ecological and cultural sites—Murchison Falls National Park, Budongo Forest, Lake Albert, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, and the heritage sites of the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom—the residency provides access to diverse ecosystems and rural contexts. Entebbe International Airport is approximately 4 hours 45 minutes away by road, and Hoima City is 45 km away.

Ubuntu supports artistic inquiry, site-responsive practice, and environmentally grounded creative work in a space removed from urban production pressure.
